From the bride: “We first met eight years ago at my 18th birthday party. I went inside, and here this guy was, talking about how cool my mom was and how good the cookies were that she made.  A month later I ran into him at the mall, and we ended up talking about how we both loved to snowboard. He got my phone number and began pursuing me. He never gave up.

Dillon and I went through a really hard patch in our relationship that caused us to separate for a year. In that year, we found who we were as individuals. When we separated, I went to Minnesota to be with my best friend and maid of honor. She took me to Taylors Falls, a park that overlooked the most beautiful landscape I’d ever seen. I sat on the cliff and breathed in the fresh air. In that moment, healing began, and I knew my life was going to bloom. A year later, Dillon and I visited Taylors Falls when we began talking again. It was so healing for both of us and powerful to see healing during the times we weren’t together. We never imagined we would be together again. Six months later, there was a “surprise” birthday for my best friend up in Minnesota. Dillon and I drove up together and hung out with our friends, and we also went to Taylors Falls. We all hiked to the cliff that I had been at just a couple years ago. There were candles all along the cliff, and when I saw this, I lost my breath. Standing with candles all around while overlooking the cliff, he said words to me that were so life-giving. I was ready for this adventure, this next step of joining a man in redemption, grace, joy and peace. Our story would be used to make a difference in this world.”
