From the bride: “Over the course of our six year relationship, Andrew has been the worst at surprises. I have been able to figure out all his plans/secrets because he is the opposite of subtle. However, Andrew was able to pull off the best surprise for the proposal! I was home in Santa Rosa, California, for spring break during grad school. Andrew had secretly booked a flight and talked to my parents and sisters about his plans. On March 15th, my family and I went whale watching at Bodega Head. I had been texting Andrew the whole day bragging that he had to be at work while I got to have fun at the beach. As I walked down the beach, I saw Andrew walking towards me and said, ‘What are you doing here?’ Immediately, I thought I had said that to a random person until he responded with ‘You made whale watching sound like so much fun, so I wanted to try it!’ The next thing I remember is Andrew getting down on one knee and asking me to be his wife. Of course, I said ‘YES!’
Our wedding was absolutely perfect! We had a full Catholic mass in which we exchanged vows and had our first kiss as husband and wife. The whole bridal party piled into the limo, and we were off to the reception at Spain Ranch. We had so much fun seeing all our friends and family in one place! After our sparkler grand exit, Andrew and I climbed into a Lyft ride and were driven to The Mayo Hotel.”
