Two University of Tulsa law school students bumped into one another at the entrance of the library. This moment is vivid in Ethan’s mind but Roxane doesn’t recall the encounter. Ethan knew then he wanted to get to know Roxane. The following semester, the pair began a friendship that soon turned to romance. During law school, her father became ill and sadly passed away. Roxane leaned on Ethan who turned out to be a great friend and much more.
When Roxane got home after a tiring day, Ethan was acting uncharacteristically nervous. While she thought it was odd, she also thought it was sweet he recreated the menu from their first date – pizza, banana splits and wine. After finishing dessert, he began telling her how much she meant to him and asked her to be his wife. She said yes!
Roxane and Ethan’s wedding day was the best day of their lives! The entire event was full of nods to family and tradition. The reception venue is owned by a longtime family friend, their wedding planner is her childhood friend, the florists are some of her best friends, and the cake was baked by his aunt. Roxane’s sister had sewn their family’s ranch brand on the inside of her dress. Ethan’s family owns Mock Brothers Saddlery, so the aisle runners were saddle blankets from his family’s shop. Ethan’s best man and brother was not able to attend because of his service in the U.S. Marine Corps., but surprised them with a video toast. Vintage rugs and furniture created cozy seating areas, while the bold, bohemian florals looked exquisite.
Roxane’s heart still skips a beat when she thinks back to seeing Ethan’s face light up when he saw her begin her walk down the aisle.
